Waterproof and Anti-Mite Bedding

The bedding lining features a non-porous, hydrophilic, waterproof, breathable membrane, offering complete waterproof protection. It effectively prevents moisture from penetrating the mattress, blocking dust and dirt to keep the mattress clean and hygienic. Additionally, it inhibits the attachment and growth of dust mites, as well as their eggs and excrement, delivering comprehensive anti-mite protection. As this is a physical method of waterproofing and mite prevention, its effectiveness does not diminish with washing.

Breathable and Comfortable

The moisture-permeable properties of the non-porous hydrophilic membrane rely on "hydrophilic groups", which have excellent water absorption—similar to a sponge. These groups quickly absorb sweat, then release moisture through diffusion and convection to the outer layer of the fabric. When used in bed sheets, pillowcases and similar products, this material helps disperse moisture and sweat produced by the body during sleep. This prevents condensation from forming inside the bedding, which could otherwise lead to a damp, cold sensation. The result is a cooling effect that maintains dryness and optimal sleeping comfort.

Machine Washable and Easy to Clean

The bedding can be washed in a standard washing machine cycle. Use a neutral detergent and avoid bleach or fabric softeners. Do not tumble dry.

It has passed Level 2 safety certification under the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, issued by the International Association for Research and Testing in the Field of Textile and Leather Ecology. Additionally, the bio-based membrane has been tested and certified by the EU/Belgian environmental organisation VINCOTTE, earning a Green Label for containing over 20% renewable content (with actual measured content between 26–28%).

Other Applications of Waterproof and Breathable Membranes

●Waterproof Sofa Fabric

In addition to bedding such as sheets and pillowcases, waterproof membranes can also be used in sofas. Thin, waterproof and anti-mite, these membranes help prevent spills—such as food, drinks or pet accidents—from seeping into the sofa, which can cause unpleasant odours and promote the growth of dust mites.

●Physical Blackout Curtain Fabric

While we enjoy natural sunlight and fresh air, there are times when it’s necessary to block out harsh western sun or maintain privacy. A black waterproof and windproof membrane can be applied to the reverse side of curtains to provide an effective sunshade. A recommended membrane thickness of 0.4–0.5 mm can achieve a shading effect of 90–100%. This not only protects furniture from direct UV damage, but also offers excellent heat insulation. Unlike chemically coated blackout fabrics, which may emit a strong paint-like odour, this physical method is odour-free and environmentally friendly.
